The Art Deco style

Lecture | Menuhin Hall

Thursday 27 February 2014 - 10:00 until 12:00

Cinema spread the image of glamour and fantasy, making Art Deco truly global. Anthea Streeter will explore its three broad stylist periods: De Luxe and the fashions of Paul Poiret, Edgar Brandt and Lalique amongst others; Zig-Zag Moderne encompassing De Stijl, Bauhaus and Cubism; and finally how American designers streamlines everyday products in the 1930s.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
