Private View | Leighton House Museum

25 November 2013
10 December 2013 - 18:30 until 20:30

Leighton House was the home of one of the leading Victorian painters, Frederic Lord Leighton (1830-1896). Designed by George Aitchison and then extended and embellished over 30 years to create a 'private palace of art', it remains one of London's greatest 19th-century townhouses.

A highlight is the Arab Hall with its magnificent collection of over 1,000 Syrian tiles, which will be specially candlelit for the visit. Important works by Leighton and his contemporaries are also on display. This exclusive evening view includes a short talk by a curator.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
