Angus trip to Edinburgh

Coach Visit | National Museum of Scotand

Tuesday 29 October 2013

Mary Queen of Scots Exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland, and The Mechanics of Man, and exhibition of Leonardo de Vinci's anatomical drawings at the Queen's Gallery.

The story of Mary Queen of Scots is well known, but the jewellery, textiles, furniture, paintings, drawings, maps and documents on display will bring her world alive. Included are loans from France and England as well as private collections not generally accessible to the public. George Dalgleish, keeper of Scottish History and Archaeology, will give us an introductory talk and then tour of the exhibition.

This particular exhibition juxtaposes Leonardo's anatomical drawings with CT, MRI scans and 3D film sequences all of which demonstrate his amazing skill in drawing complicated joints to show how they articulate.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
