From Belfast to Sennen Cove by Ken Howard

Lecture | Holmer Parish Hall

Saturday 26 October 2013 - 11:00 until 13:00

Professor Ken Howard OBE RA was born in London and studied at Hornsey College of Art and the Royal College of Art from 1949 - 1958. In 1973 and 1978 he was the Official War Artist to Northern Ireland and also worked in various army postings around the world. Elected a Royal Academician in 1991 and received an OBE in 2010.

Regarded as one of our finest painters living today, he says his paintings are about three things - relevation, communication and celebration. He paints in a traditional manner with the depiction of light as a strong recurrent element of his work. All artists are trying to capture light; Ken Howard is a 'master of masters' at this.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
