20th century portraits by Olive Duncan

Study Day | Memus Village Hall

Friday 27 September 2013 - 11:00

The 20th Century bought cataclysmic changes to the structure of society, with the upheavals of two world wars and their aftermath, while art and artists were equally challenge throughout this period. To celebrate the Millennium, The National Portrait Gallery in London put on a chronological exhibition of 20th Century portraits showing their development over 100 years.

Olive's two lectures, with lunch in between, are based on that survey of portraiture from 1900 to 2000 including some historical and cultural background.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund
