The making and meaning of the Lindisfarne Gospels

Michelle Brown, Professor of Mediaeval Manuscript Studies at the University of London and previously Curator of Illuminated Manuscripts at the British Library will give a lecture entitled 'The making and meaning of the Lindisfarne Gospels'. The lecture will take place in the evocative venue of Escomb Parish Church, built around the year 670 during the golden period of Anglo-Saxon Northumbria and having strong claims to be the oldest complete Anglo-Saxon church in the country.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
