Paint: the first 40,000 Years

Talk | Nairn Community and Arts Centre

Thursday 5 September 2013 - 12:45 until 15:15

Since the invention of photography, the death of painting has been regularly proclaimed. Well-known cultural advisor, Robert Livingston begs to differ and in this illustrated talk he argues that paint itself may be central to what makes us human. He will explore the use of paint from prehistoric cave art to Renaissance masters, from abstract Expressionism to Hirst's spin paintings.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to raise money for the Art Fund.
