Visit to Longford Castle

Visit | Longford Castle

Tuesday 23 July 2013 - 10:15

By kind permission of Lord Radnor, a private tour of the house and then the opportunity to explore the formal gardens afterwards. The castle was completed in 1592 and passed to the Bouverie family in 1717. Its unusual construction of three towers is based on the Swedish style, representing the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Much of the furniture was made for the house in the 18th century. The art collection features many family portraits by Gainsborough and Reynolds and also includes works by Van Dyck, Claude and Frans Hals.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to raise money for the Art Fund.
