Papplewick Pumping Station

Visit | Papplewick Pumping Station

Saturday 13 July 2013

Papplewick Pumping Station is one of the finest Victorian Pumping Water Works in the country. It was extensively restored in 2003 and 2005 and is a spectacular example of Victorian engineering and artistic design. A morning tour has been organised to see this remarkable building with its six Lancashire boilers fully charged and and the pumping machinery working.

There is the chance to visit the vaulted underground reservoir, view the Cooling Pond and walk through the formal landscaped grounds.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
