Granting Art - Challenges and opportunities of new acquisitions

Study Day | Herbert Art Gallery and Museum

Tuesday 2 July 2013 - 10:00 until 15:00

The Herbert Art Gallery and Museum is hosting this study day and Head of Collections & Programmes, Chris Kirby with colleagues will present the challenges of a municipal gallery in today's economic climate. Stephen Deuchar will discuss the process undertaken by the Art Fund when assessing which art should be funded, to what extent, and for which gallery or museum.

There will be a guided tour of the exhibition, Caught in the Crossfire and then in the afternoon a tour of Looking in Wonderland, the exhibition of Tenniel's drawings for Alice in Wonderland.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to raise money for the Art Fund.
