Visit to 'The Murrell' Garden

Visit | The Murrell, Aberdour

Tuesday 18 June 2013 - 14:30

This trip consists of a visit to 'The Murrell' Garden in Aberdour by kind invitation of Mr and Mrs A Bower and a visit to Kilrie Granary Gallery in Kirkcaldy by kind invitation of Mr and Mrs John Dryside. The garden at the Murrell was originally created in the Arts and Crafts Style in 1910 by Frank Deas. Improvements began in the 1970s and continued by the current owners Mr and Mrs Bower when they moved there in 1998. There are now 6 acres of formal garden with more woodland beyond.

The visit to the gardens will be followed by a visit to the Kylrie Granary. The gallery was created by John and Suzanne Drysdale from the old stables of Kilrie House . There will be some works in preparation for the Summer Exhibition of Young Painters on display, which will open later in the summer.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
