Smedmore House and garden near Kimmeridge has remained in the same family since the 1550s. The house holds an art collection; some 17th century work remains but the 18th century pieces are predominant and are of immense charm and character.
Lulworth is the home of the Weld family, built relatively recently on the Lulworth estate, when the old castle became impractical to live in. The house contains treasure of great interest, in particular a collection of pictures assembled by the family since the 18th century.
This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
