'How Watercolours have Developed and Evolved' by Ann Clements

Talk | The Society of Antiquaries of London

Monday 15 April 2013 - 14:30

British artists made a huge contribution to the watercolour genre in the 18th and 19th centuries. This lecture will trace the development of the medium and focus on some of the greatest exponents, as well as explore the role of watercolour in the 18th-century Grand Tour and how the intricate Victorian watercolour was challenged by artists such as Whistler.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
