The Art Fund Spring Lecture

Lecture | The Burrell Collection

Saturday 6 April 2013 - 10:30 until 12:00

This year the Art Fund Spring Lecture will be given by Alan Wishart on 'The Pre-Stamp Art of Communication'. Alan is a fellow of the Society of Antiquarians of Scotland and a member of the Society for Mediaeval Archaeology. He specialises in postal history of Europe from earliest times to 1870. In recent years he has been 'putting together a collection of the pre-stamp postal history of Europe'. His talk will be an illustrated look at the wide range of solutions in the postal system before the stamp was developed.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
