M Shed Museum Visit

Lecture | M Shed

Friday 1 February 2013 - 11:30

Bristol exists because of its Harbour. For over 1,000 years people in the city have been trading and working in their city centre harbour, although today's activities are markedly different from those of a century and more ago. Andy King's talk will encompass the long history of the port (still thriving today), Bristol's position as second city (twice), and the changes that have ensured the survival of the harbours as a unique asset in the heart of modern Bristol.

Following coffee and pastry in the cafe we will attend a lecture on 'The historic harbour and its role in Bristol's development', then have the freedom to tour the museum.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
