St Nicholas - a talk by Jean Stokes

Talk | St George's Church Hall

Friday 23 November 2012 - 14:30

Following on from the huge success of Jean's talk last year, we would be delighted if you could join us again for an hour long, illustrated Christmas lecture exploring the origins of St. Nicholas. As Santa Claus he had become part of the seasonal festivities, but is he the same person as Father Christmas? Why is Durham Cathedral named after St. Nicholas? Who was he, and what has he become?

This event has been organised by a local supporter help group to raise money for the Art Fund.
