Professor David Ekserdjian will lecture on a new exhibition, Bronze, at the Royal Academy which he is curating and will also discuss the practical and intellectual challenges of putting on a major, international art exhibition.

This new exhibition will be at the Royal Academy from 15th September to 9th December, 2012. It will look at bronze as a medium for sculpture from the 4th millennium BC to the present, all over the world.

David Ekserdjian is a Professor of Art and Film at the University of Leicester. He is also a Trustee at the National Gallery of the Tate. His publications include monographs on Correggio and Parmigianino and a study of still life painting in the Renaissance.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
