Developing a Modern and Contemporary Collection for Wales

An illustrated talk by Nicholas Thornton, Head of Modern and Contemporary Art at the National Museum of Wales-Amgueddfa Cymru, followed by a glass of wine and buffet.

An overview of the Museum’s modern and contemporary collection, with particular reference to recent acquisitions made possible with the support provided by the Art Fund, including works by Picasso, Christopher Wood, Alan Davie and Richard Long.

These new acquisitions will be discussed in the context of the wider aims of the Museum and the opportunities and challenges created by the launch of the National Museum of Art for Wales in 2011

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
