David Bomberg - a lecture by Richard Godwin-Austen

Lecture | The Castle Museum, Nottingham

Thursday 18 October 2012 - 13:45

David Bomberg was a daring, sophisticated artist of the Slade School before the First World War. His work was both inspiring and innovative, yet he never gained recognition as a great artist until after his death. In a lecture by Dr Richard Godwin-Austen, we will question whether if, in fact, Bomberg was the finest English painter of the 20th century. Following the lecture, there will be a viewing of Bomberg's 'The Moorish Wall, Cyprus'.

This event has been organised by a local supporter help group to raise money for the Art Fund.
