Society of Women Artists Exhibition: Talk and private viewing at Albany Gallery

Talk and Tour | Albany Gallery

Saturday 15 September 2012 - 19:00 until 20:30

A talk and private viewing at Albany Gallery with wine and canapés. Followed by an optional dinner at the Zio Pin restaurant.

Some of the artists will talk briefly about their works, their practice, and their inspirations. The President of the Society, Sue Jelley will give a talk on the Society’s history of dedication to promoting art by women. Founded in 1855, when women were not considered as ‘serious’ artists, the SWA gave women artists the opportunity to publicly show their work. The Society encourages variety and versatility and features some of today’s finest contemporary women artists, further sustaining their reputation for excellence.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
