Gardens in art - A talk by Clare Ford-Willie

Talk | Odney Club Conference Centre

Thursday 23 August 2012 - 11:00

From the Egyptians until our own time, people have been involved in designing, developing and enjoying gardens. Gardens have often been painted, both from the imagination and from reality. This talk by Clare Ford-Willie, who also lectures at the National Gallery, the V&A, and Birkbeck College, will explore their representation in art. Clare will discuss their portrayal by a range of painters, from Velazquez to Peter de Hooch, to Beatrix Potter.

Coffee at 11am, lecture at 11.30am.

This event has been organised by a local supporter help group to raise money for the Art Fund.
