Visit Bevis Marks Synagogue

Talk | Bevis Marks Synagogue

Wednesday 28 March 2012 - 18:30 until 19:30

The splendid Bevis Marks Synagogue, the oldest in Great Britain still in use, is affiliated to London’s Spanish and Portuguese Jewish community. The building was completed in 1701 and its architectural significance was formally recognised in 1950 when it was designated a Grade 1 Listed monument. Our visit consists of an introductory talk on the history of Bevis Marks and the London Jewish community by Shamash (Curator) Maurice Bitton, followed by a tour.
