Nelson's Ship in a Bottle: Drinks reception and talk with Jon Snow

Reception | London's Living Room

Wednesday 29 February 2012 - 19:30 until 21:30

Join the Art Fund and the National Maritime Museum for this special fundraising evening in London's Living Room, a striking space situated on the top floor of Norma Foster's iconic City Hall building, where we will enjoy drinks and canapés and stunning panoramic views of the London skyline and the Thames.

Nelson's Ship in a bottle by Yinka Shonibare MBE has enjoyed tremendous response from the public since it first appeared on the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square.

But what is it about this extraordinary work that has sparked the imagination of millions and inspired the Art Fund and the National Maritime Museum in their bid to give it a permanent home in Greenwich?

As well as hearing key players from both organisations, we are delighted that broadcaster Jon Snow, a member of GLA's Fourth Plinth Commissioning Group and longstanding supporter of the Art Fund, will also be joining us (world news permitting).

We hope you will be inspired to join us too and help ensure this extraordinary work reaches its new home.
