Wednesday 18 January 2012 - 14:30 until 15:30
Join us for a guided tour of University College London's Petrie Museum.
It houses one of the greatest ancient Egyptian and Sudanese collections in the world, offering a unique insight into how the people of the Nile Valley lived and died.
Among its 80,000 objects are some impressive firsts, including one of the earliest known group of monumental sculptures, dating from c3000 BC.
Among the costume collection is a unique beadnet dancer's dress from the Pyramid Age, dated c24000 BC. There are outstanding works of art from Akhenatens's Amarna and the world's largest collection of Roman-period mummy portraits.
