Hilary Boucher presents a seasonal talk on the work of Benozzo Gozzoli and his major work - the frescoes in the Chapel of the Magi in the Palazzo Medici Riccardi.
The fascination of the Chapel is the linking of the remote part of the Nativity and the Magi and the current political and social world of 15th-century Florence. Gozzoli and his patron, Piero Di Medici, shared a taste for pageantry, ceremonial and elaborate decoration.
