Richard Wendorf joined the American Museum as director following 12 years as Director of the Boston Athenaeum.

He specialises, among other things, in portraiture and 18th-century British art. He is an entertaining and distinguished lecturer and will talk about the museum, its origins and contents in the theatre of the recently converted Stable Complex. Richard's many publications include 'Sir Joshua Reynolds: The Painter in Society' for which he was awarded the Annabel Jenkins Biography Prize.
