Nostell Priory and Temple Newsam

Visit | Nostell Priory and Temple Newsam

Thursday 2 June 2011 - 11:30

In celebration of the Art Fund's succesful campaign to save Pieter Brughel the Younger's Procession to Calvary for Nostell Priory, a private visit has been organised. The house was designed by James Paine and Robert Adam and is particularly well-known for its wonderful collection of furniture designed by Chippendale, who was born at nearby Otley. The Chippendale theme is continued at Temple Newsam. Temple Newsam, with its magnificent Tudor/Jacobean exterior, is famous for its collection of 18th century furniture. James Lomax, Curator of Decorative Arts, will give a talk on some of the highlights of the collection.
