A wonderful trip to the four finest houses in Northern Ireland: Baronscourt, Castle Coole, Castle Ward, and Ballywater Park.
18 May: Fly to Belfast (details below)
19 May: Private visits to Baronscourt and Castle Coole. The former is the home of the Duke and Duchess of Abercorn. A tour of the house will be personally led by the Duke. Baronscourt is a magnificent Palladian house built between1779-1782 and was then extensively remodeled by John Soane in 1791. Castle Coole is a majestic 18th century home of the Earls of Belmore, designed by James Wyatt.
20 May: Private Visits to Castle Ward and Ballywater Park. Castle Ward is a unique 18th century house which combines both gothic and neo-classical architectural styles internally and externally. It is in a stunning location overlooking Strongford Lough. Ballywater Park was built in the Italianate Palazzo style between 1846 and 1852. Further work was done by Baron Dunleath in 1870. The house has a fine collection of original furniture and paintings. The tour will be personally led by Lord Dunleath.
Accomodation will be at the four star Killyhevlin Hotel overlooking Lough Erne at Enniskillen. A group rate has been set at £155 to cover two nights accomodation including breakfast and dinner (assuming two people are sharing a room). If not there is a single supplement of £20 per night.
