The day will begin in the coastal village of Bosham. Meet at Bosham Village Hall for an illustrated talk by Paul Jeffrey, a leading author on collegiate churches. Then, a guided visit to Bosham's Holy Trinity Church which is celebrated for its Saxon architecture and dates back from the reign of King Canute. It was also the place from which Earl Harold sailed to meet Duke William of Normany and the only church depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry. After lunch there will be a half hour's private introductory tour of Fishbourne Roman Palace before visiting the site. Fishbourne is the earliest Roman residence in Britain with the lagest in-situ mosaic floors in the country.
