Diane Arbus Exhibition

Tuesday 5 April 2011 - 14:00 until 12:00

This gallery is currently hosting an exhibition of the work of Diane Arbus. This is part of the 'Artist Rooms on Tour' partnership between the Art Fund and the Scottish Government, displaying works from the d'Offay bequest.

Diane Arbus was born in New York in 1923 and is considered one of the great figures of American photography. She pioneered the photographic approach that bridges the gap between documentary and fine art. Her bold and direct style has been praised as 'celebration of things as they are', and her work is often controversial and thought provoking.

Fiona Mair, who is Learning Manager at the gallery, will give us a guided tour of the exhibition.
