The visit to Lichfield will begin with a gentle walk around the city. A guided tour of the 12th Century St. John's Hospital almshouses chapel will follow. The chapel features a John Piper window and a sculpture of Noah by Simon Manby. There are ample places to take lunch in the area (at your own expense). In the afternoon there will be a visit to the Lichfield Heritage Centre which has informative exhibits on the history of the city and houses the Staffordshire Millenium Tapestries. The possibility exists for further (independent) visits to Dr Johnson's birthplace, Erasmus Darwin's House, and the Cathedral.
