Lecture: What is British Art? With Stephen Deuchar, Art Fund Director

| Oak Room

21 – 24 January 2011 - 18:30 until 20:30

Meet Art Fund Director Stephen Deuchar as he shares his thoughts around the much debated subject “What is British Art?” Former Director of Tate Britain, Stephen oversaw major re-displays of the permanent collection in 2000 and 2001, the launch of the £30M Centenary Development, and the establishment of a major programme of adventurous temporary exhibitions. Amongst the highlights have been many acclaimed contemporary shows - including retrospectives of Freud, Riley and Caro, the series of Tate Triennials, and commissions in the Duveen galleries from Mark Wallinger and Martin Creed. Wine and savouries will be served after the lecture.
