Event: Christmas Gathering at Bulwick Park
| Bulwick Park
Sunday 5 December 2010
The annual Christmas Gathering drinks party at Bulwick Park, Northamptonshire. In 1617 the Manor at Bulwick was bought by Moses Tryon, a London merchant whose father Peter had come from Flanders in the 1560s. In 1676 the house was rebuilt and enlarged; new gardens were laid out and this building forms the main range of the present house. In 1730 Charles Tryon modernised the house and in 1805 Thomas Tryon added a new large room which formed a small wing at the south west end of the house. The house has been in the Tryon family since it was built and was inherited by the present owner from his grandmother, who was the eldest daughter of Thomas Tryon.
