Talk: Discovering Jerusalem - The Palestine Exploration Fund and the Holy City

Wednesday 20 October 2010

During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the Palestine Exploration Fund - particularly the expedition of Charles Warren in the 1860s - furnished scholarship with a level of information about the Temple Mount never achieved before or since.

This illustrated talk will outline the main features of Warren's work and define why his discoveries continue to be of lasting value to researchers.
