Private Tour: Durham University Library

| Durham University Library

The University library, founded in 1669, holds many priceless manuscripts and book. After a welcome from librarian Dr Sheila Hingley, Professor Richard Gameson, an expert on medieval illustrated books, leads the tour.

The library was founded by Bishop Cosin as an endowment public library and is still housed in its original, specially built, building. It is Grade I listed and is located in a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This promises to be a very special evening.
