Talk and Tour: Behind Bath's Facades

| Museum of Bath at Work

Following the success of Kirsten Elliot's lecture on John Wood in 2008, she will be talking again in the wonderful setting of the converted real tennis court that is the Museum of Bath at Work. She will give a lecture entitled "Behind Bath's Facades": "Facadism" is an unpopular word in modern conservation circles. Bath's Georgian facades hide the way in which buildings worked -not always successfully- and how they were constructed. Behind some there even lurk much older buildings. This talk and tour reveals the secrets which lie behind Bath's elegant facades. Following the talk will be the walk around Bath with Kirsten and Dr. Andrew Swift, returning to the Museum for tea.
