Tour: Stonehenge and its Landscape
This is an opportunity for a private escorted tour of this World Heritage site. David Miles, former chief archaeologist at English Heritage, returns to the Art Fund to discuss Britain's most important pre-historic monument. He is an engaging talker who is able to convey a clear picture of the past.
The stones that can be seen are only the tip of the iceberg; there is evidence that this was a sacred site at least as early as 3,700 BC. David will lead a tour to explore the wider site and return to the stones, giving a very special perspective to this visit. After this, visit the nearby Woodhenge and Durrington Walls which were probably linked to Stonehenge ritually.
