Visit: Montrose Artists' Studios

Kym Needle was born on a farm in Gawler, South Australia. He trained at The South Australian School of Art, North Adelaide before coming to Edinburgh to teach ceramics and painting at The Edinburgh Academy. He came to live in Angus in 2006 to concentrate on his painting. His bold and colourful style shows the influence of his childhood in Australia.

Colin & Lisa Badger are designer-artisans who together create fused glass, wrought iron, brass & wood furniture and architectural items. Their work has appeared at the Philadelphia Furniture Show as well as others in the US and UK. After four years working in America they came to Angus where they have turned the redundant Lunan Church into a studio.

Lisa works in glass. Having studied at art schools in America and Edinburgh she now uses moulds or layering techniques to achieve stunning effects.

Colin is a native of Somerset where he practised fine metal work for over 20 years. His work is either forged and shaped in an anvil or welded in such a way as to hide the join.
