Start the weekend with a day spent at the Liverpool Tate, where there is chance to see the Picasso exhibition Peace and Freedom. This exhibition consists of 150 works from around the world, exploring the post-war period of the artist's life in depth. After this see 4 rooms of an excellent comprehensive range of 20th century European sculpture from the Tate's own collections.
On Sunday, start at the Walker Art Gallery and include a special exhibition of Toulouse-Lautrec prints from the British Museum. In the Craft Gallery there is a display of china and glass and there is an exhibition with the title The Rise of Women Artists.
Follow this with a visit to the Lady Lever Gallery, noted for its Pre-Raphaelites and taking in the special small loan exhibition of engravings from the Hunterian Gallery, Glasgow: Durer and his Compatriates in Italy.
