Private visit: The former home and workshops of Eric Gill

| Pigotts

Best known perhaps for his typography and ‘Gill’ typeface, Eric Gill was also an etcher and sculptor of national importance. In the morning take a walk through historic Pigotts woodland, in the company of John Morris from the Chiltern Woodlands Project, which will take in a view of the Gill crucifix. After lunch, Nick Wheeler-Robinson, the present owner of Pigotts, will show Gill’s original workshops and give an illustrated talk about his unconventional - some might say scandalous - domestic life, and his work at Pigotts during one of the most fruitful periods of his career.
