Visit: Exploring the Pulhams

| The Pulhams

Adam Longcroft, who is in charge of the Department for Continuing Education in the University of East Anglia, will lead a tour of buildings and points of interest in the Pulhams. Start at Duck's Foot Farm, where there is a beautiful reconstructed barn, then move on to a fine house preserved by the Landmark Trust, Manor Farm. Then, in the centre of Pulham Market, watch a demonstration of teapot making by potter Ray Auker. Whilst in the centre Dr Longcroft may take the opportunity to talk about the lovely range of buildings around the Green. After lunch, visit Gothic House, a 17th century timber-framed house with later modifications. Then on to Home Farm, typical of the hall houses which stud this area. Finally go to Pennoyers' School, a 17th century schoolroom built into a 15th century chapel of the Guild of St James, which is currently undergoing restoration.
