Talk: Victoria and Albert - Love and Art

This talk marks the staging at the Queen’s Gallery of the first major exhibition to focus on the unique art collecting partnership of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Jonathan Marsden, Director of the Royal Collection and Art Fund Trustee, will discuss how over 400 items have been brought together from across the Royal Collection to celebrate the couple’s mutual delight in collecting works of art fromthe time of their
engagement in 1839 to the Prince’s untimely death in 1861. This talk will explore the couple’s love of painting, sculpture and decorative art, as well as their interest in music, theatre and literature.
