| Farnley Hall

Visit Farnley Hall, home of the Horton-Fawkes family, and view their extensive collection of J.M.W.Turner paintings from his stays here. Farnley Hall is a Grade I listed building. Originally built in the 17th century, it was redesigned by John Carr in the 1780s. Whilst in the ownership of Walter Fawkes in the early 19th century, visitors included John Ruskin, who admired the Turner collection. The present owner of the Hall, Nicholas Horton Fawkes, is President of the Turner Society. Artefacts associated with Cromwell are also to be found here.
