Visit: Chenies Manor House, Buckinghamshire

| Chenies Manor House

The historic and enchanting Tudor Manor House is set in the charming estate village of Chenies in Buckinghamshire overlooking the Chess Valley. The architectural historian Nickolaus Pevsner described the manor house as “beautifully mellow, under the trees by the church, and architecturally a fascinating puzzle.” Chenies Manor is a Grade I listed building. The semi-fortified brick manor house which forms the core of the present day structure was built by Sir John Cheyne in approximately 1460. The original manor house was extended in the 16th Century by John Russell, later the 1st Earl of Bedford.

After a guided tour of the manor house visit the gardens. Amongst the many splendid features of the garden are the tulips – over 7000 of them. Please see for more information.
