Private View: Scratching the Surface
Scratching the Surface is an exhibition of work by four contemporary British painters, Stewart Geddes, Clyde Hopkins, Francesca Simon and Gary Wragg. It embodies the idea of painting as an activity which deals with real stuff, with paint, pigment, canvas, colour, a tangible surface, as much as it deals with metaphysical aspects. Its principal aim is to provoke an emotional response.
This private event, which leads directly into the exhibition's official private view later that evening, offers a chance to hear first-hand one of the artists, Stewart Geddes, talk about the exhibition.
Wine and canapes will be served.
