Lecture: George IV and the Overthrow of Napoleon (Haddington)
Christopher Lloyd, former Keeper of the Royal Collection, Trustee of The
Art Fund and President of NADFAS, looks at the works by Sir Thomas Lawrence,
which were specially commissioned by King George IV around the time of the
downfall of Napoleon I. The portraits, in The Waterloo Chamber in the State
Appartments of Windsor Castle, depict the allied heads of state, military
commanders and diplomats responsable for his downfall.
