Study Day: Conservation at Weston Park, Shropshire
| Weston Park
Each year a team of conservators from the Hamilton Kerr Institute in Cambridge, some of them trainees, comes to Weston Park to undertake in-situ work on the outstanding picture collection - from surface cleaning to preventative conservation work. Enjoy an illustrated talk by Gareth Williams, the Weston Park Foundation’s Curator and Head of Learning, followed by an opportunity to see the conservators at work. In the afternoon there will be a guided tour of the principal rooms at Weston Park, focussing on the conservation management of the collection. Look at the threats to art and antiques, the the opportunity to discuss the ways to minimize risks and how to cope with damage and restoration.
Morning coffee and a two course lunch are included, the latter prepared by their award-winning chef, Guy Day.
