A further opportunity for those of you who missed the
2008 visit to see the diverse collection of paintings, ceramics, clocks and
silver, assembled over the past 240 years of the Bank's history. As well
as notable portraits by Benjamin West and Sir Thomas Lawrence, there are works
from the great age of English watercolour development, with paintings by Sandby,
Cotman, Boys and Samuel Palmer. Since the 1980s, the focus has been on
early modern British artists, such as Grant, Nicholson, Lowry, Nash and Spencer.
