'Behind the Scenes' Tour of the British Library

A great opportunity to visit this breath-taking building with its beautiful courtyard. Enjoy a guided tour of the library that will cover the history of the British Library and the challenges involved in the decision to move from the British Museum in 1996.

Your guide will explain how some of the 12 million items are stored, how requests are made and how books are delivered to the reading rooms.
You will then be taken 'backstage' to a book-handling room.
The tour lasts approximately 1 hour and will be followed by tea and biscuits.
