Visit: Westminster Cathedral

| Westminster Cathedral

Westminster Cathedral is the largest and most important Catholic church in the country. It was designed by John Francis Bentley in the exotic Byzantine style to avoid competing with the Gothic architecture of Westminster Abbey.

The cathedral opened in 1903, and the fine mosaics and sculptures of its interior continue to be added to by contemporary craftsmen. With its unusual bell tower, and piazza opening onto Victoria Street, the building has become a familiar landmark. On this private tour, members will discover the history of the cathedral.
